It gets us all outside and away from our insular lives. Its amazing to me... especially with the advancement of technology in our culture, how little our young people get outside... EVER!

Re: Video: Geocaching For Buried Treasure!

Hey Elena, You should get out more often! I love the Idyllwild area and have spent many spring and summer days marveling at the beauty there. Take a day off and go caching!

Re: Video: Geocaching For Buried Treasure!

This was fun to watch! Make sure to review and understand all of the geocache placement guidelines listed here Reading these guidelines will also help you know what you are looking for in the field. =)

Re: Video: Geocaching For Buried Treasure!

Cute video, you guys! It's fun to watch you have so much fun. Keep going!
:)
- Elin, aka EMC of Northridge, CA
Note: Geocaches are NOT buried treasure. We have lost TB's and Geocaoins in this recent attack as well. That is part of what makes me so upset. If the cache location is really their issue, then why not at least place the TB's and coins in another cache that doesn't bother them. I don't get it. Why spoil some little kids (or adult kids) fun like that?!

I'd like to add your blog to my blogroll if that is ok with you. Let me know!

Re: Geocaching Has A Dark Side: Anti-Caching

Hi there Krytic!
I quite agree with you and I think you've stated your point well!! Our 'anti-cachers' around here have been the bug & goin stealing type. :(

And YAY!! I finally figured out how to comment on your blog.

I'm just glad it is over for the month! Thanks for the feedback on the site. Your site is really coming into its own. In regards to "Tupperware Tuesday," I feel ya. It's just me, and I often loath going. However, you know me...I freak out when I'm down to my last 12 rolls of T.P. and 6 rolls of paper towels (sigh).

Re: Jeremy Irish Interview – Metaplaces Conference

"Muggled" caches can really be discouraging. The first time I found the remnants of one, my heart just sank. That was the day I decided that being stealthy and foregoing a cache find to save the cache location, would be a top priority in my caching adventures. Sometimes there are just too many eyes watching to make the grad a safe one. It still breaks my heart to see stuff scattered all over and TB's and Geocoins missing. I really like going geocaching and have just tried to get better at misdirection and deception!

Re: Jeremy Irish Interview – Metaplaces Conference

Sweet, this "sport" has really caught on, I go with my friend sometimes. He's more in to it than me, but I like it too. Our only disappointment is the waiting for the update cable...we holiday in canada regularly and we cannot access any geocaches outside of the US without the cable, and it isnt out yet :(

LOVE the product though - my 4yo can find a geocache easy peasy...and the big kids love it to. Yay geomate!
